The Deception of the “Genius” Label

No Innate Genius

There is no such thing as a genius or an inherently intelligent person distinct from a “dumb” one. What we call intelligence is merely the natural outcome of sustained interest and focus.

Interest Drives Mastery

People excel in whatever captures their deepest interest. One person becomes an expert collector, another a mathematician, simply because that is where their passion lies. Skill follows attention, not some mystical inborn gift.

The Elon Musk Example

Elon Musk is celebrated as a genius because he builds electric cars that people desire, driven by their own interests, eagerly purchase. This generates wealth, and wealth is mistaken for proof of superior intelligence. Yet anyone with the same sustained interest, especially today with abundant tools and AI, could achieve comparable mastery given time.

Money as the True Measure

Society labels someone “brilliant” when their interest aligns with what produces money. Scripture foretold this: the world chases mammon. Wealth cannot be taken beyond the grave, nor will it influence eternal judgment, yet it remains the primary lens through which we falsely crown “geniuses.”

Eternal Perspective vs. Temporal Pursuit

Believers prioritize harmony with Elohim above all, knowing this life ends at the throne of Yeshua for judgment, either eternal life or eternal condemnation. In eternal life awaits an inheritance beyond imagination for those who obey. Therefore, their interest is fixed on Scripture, prayer, and godly character.

Why the World Misjudges

Those focused on eternity often appear “less savvy” in worldly success, their treasures are stored where moth and rust cannot destroy. Meanwhile, the majority chase deteriorating possessions, larger crowds, and immediate gratification, blind to the priceless reality awaiting beyond death.

Influence Without Depth

We see wealthy individuals leap from computers to vaccines, health, and food industries, not because of omniscient genius, but because money grants influence and influence opens doors. Interest plus capital creates the illusion of universal brilliance.

Late Awakening

Repentance at the Last Moment Many people discover too late that money is not everything, a truth Scripture has long foretold. Elohim, who formed us, knows our hearts perfectly and understands how easily we wander. When serious illness arrives, the once-cluttered table of life’s priorities is suddenly cleared, leaving only Elohim, family, and health. How sorrowful that it often takes the nearness of death to awaken such clarity. Countless people, in their strength fading, grieve over years spent pursuing money, status, validation, and pride instead of cultivating kindness, humility, and love.

Unchanging Judgment

Elohim will judge every thought, word, and deed; neither premeditated sin nor deathbed false remorse can be hidden from His sight. Much of modern religion has softened Yeshua’s image into a lenient figure who overlooks sin, yet the Old and New Testaments reveal the same unchanging, holy Elohim. In earlier times, ignorance offered some excuse; today, with the full light of revelation, we bear greater responsibility. Scripture warns of the subtle, deceptive mark-of-the-beast religious system—we must pray earnestly to remain undefiled by it. A last-second turning to Elohim is never guaranteed if it is not genuine, for He searches the heart’s true motives. He speaks tenderly and clearly to those who sincerely seek Him, but those clinging to man-made traditions and doctrines cannot hear His voice.

True Wisdom

The Only True Genius, If the word genius must be used at all, let it describe the soul who grasps this: a day of reckoning is coming. Every idle word, every hidden thought, every act of love or cruelty will be weighed. On that day the destiny—eternal life or eternal separation—will be settled forever. In the coming eternal life, Elohim Himself will be our light; there will be no need for sun or moon, no darkness, no pain, no tears—only unending joy in His presence. In eternal separation, every secret will be laid bare before all; shame and torment will have no end and no relief. Yet today, right now, mercy is still offered. We may repent, receive forgiveness, and begin anew on the solid foundation of Yeshua’s grace. Let us gently turn away from the world’s enslaving pursuit of wealth, status, and fleeting pleasure. Instead, let us listen to the loving voice of our Creator who says, You have but a little time—live as I created you to live, for your good and My glory. Choose humility. Choose kindness. Choose to seek Elohim with all your heart while He may still be found. In that choice lies the only wisdom that endures forever.

There are no geniuses, only differing interests. May we gently redirect our own, and pray Elohim helps us all fix our hearts on what alone endures forever: knowing and obeying Him. May His grace draw us all nearer to Him, today and every day.
