Lyrics

Verse

You gave me the strength to battle my crippling fears
I now fear nothing, no pain, no sorrow, regardless of the years

My inner child, ageless, look in the mirror, who’s that who appears?
A lump of clay , can’t speak yet, but thank Yah, I can hear

Chorus

Give me your breath so I can have your ghost
give me your breath so I can be filled more than most

With open arms you call those who still believe
I have nothing, I cannot give, but I can still receive.

Verse

You lift me up, soft lifeless child in your hand
You breathe in me and place me down so I can stand

You touch my eyes, rub them, gently so I can see
I can see now, my father, my creator and my king

Chorus

Give me your breath so I can have your ghost
give me your breath so I can be filled more than most

With open arms you call those who still believe
I have nothing, I cannot give, but I can still receive.

Verse

You open your hand and equip me with your armor
Your laws in my heart like a seed planted by a farmer

Where I’m sending you, you’ll will see much chaos and whirl
But take heart my child for I have overcome the world.

Chorus

Give me your breath so I can have your ghost,
give me your breath so I can be filled more than most

With open arms you call those who still believe

I have nothing, I cannot give, but I can still receive.

There is one comment on Clay

  • This composition holds profound personal significance for me. It marks a departure from my usual creative boundaries, reflecting a deeply traumatic five-year period defined by debilitating chronic anxiety. Though I had always supported others emotionally, my crippling anxiety rendered me unable to help even myself during this time. Like a potter choosing one lump of clay from many unshaped and unformed pieces to mold with purpose, I used this metaphor to articulate my journey. With my wife steadfastly by my side, I discovered genuine faith in Elohim and Yeshua, who provided unwavering strength and solace.

An overwhelming surge of inspiration struck after completing Voice. With Sarah, I seized the moment. Using my iPad, I crafted the piece swiftly, completing the process from initial draft to online upload in approximately two hours. Though exhausted from finishing Voice, I believe the effort was profoundly rewarding.

I am now free from anxiety for over 7 years, having overcome it through the power of His word alone. My wife noted that my song could inspire others. For this reason, if you wish to obtain the instrumental track for singing at your church, please contact me. Depending on the circumstances and venue, I may provide the instrumental track without vocals at no cost.

As always, all my song are free to download.
    (Micah 3:11-12, Matthew 10:8)

    Enjoy!
