One thing I refuse to do, is to start yelling at someone who clearly made a mistake, especially who is UNABLE to hear me. I see it all the time, when someone starts yelling at the other driver as if they can hear them. I think it’s really foolish if we really think about it. The probability of someone understanding exacly what I’m saying through my enraged movements is pretty up there, and the probability of me successfully delivering my point through sign language is even higher, since I don’t know sign language. There’s simply no point, especially when he/she is gone!
This was not a reenactment, this is exactly how I deal with foolish drivers. I don’t let them ruin my day. Plus forgiveness is what we should always be practicing every day, not just when there’s a good sermon about forgiveness. I’ve forgiven everyone who has harmed me or offended me. Everyone. ?Now, how did I learned to be more patient and forgiving?
Through the true biblical chastising. I went through almost 5 years of shame, ridicule, fear, spiritual torment and humbling after (not before) I decided to obediently follow the life of faith over a decade ago. This is the same way Elohim humbled Jacob, David, Nebuchadnezzar, Paul, Peter…etc
Not the chastising model-day christians say they experience when they come with pride, serve with pride and die in pride and in arrogance. They convert with a chip on their shoulders and die with a bolder. Nothing changes, except they start reciting verses and some (not all) are kinder when not provoked or tested, as if kindness and reciting scriptures is the goal and our only duty. That’s what the scriptures describes as man-made religion, or as some might call it, hyper-grace.
I say this not to highlight myself, but to teach discernment. The true people of Elohim will be chastised through obedience to the ten words, not the disobedience thereof.
For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth (paideuō), and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
