Is Yeshua Really Elohim the Father?
Perspectives Differ:
Some modern denominations, though not all, believe Yeshua is Elohim, the Father. In this post, I will persuade those who hold this view to focus on biblical text rather than traditional doctrine, redirecting them to Scriptures alone. As challenging as this may seem, since traditional doctrine is hard to uproot once entrenched, it is possible for those with humble hearts. We see this in former members of Catholicism and its daughter denominations—Pentecostalism, Presbyterianism, Mormonism, Calvinism, etc.—who endured trauma that can linger for years after leaving, having accepted their “Mark.”
First, let’s address misunderstood verses. This approach is not only proper but biblical for correcting misinterpretations. When a building’s foundation is flawed, it must be dismantled before a new one is built. Similarly, corrupt doctrine requires exposing errors before new teachings can be accepted. This is why dialogue (“iron sharpens iron”) is vital and biblical, unlike modern religions that often view it as problematic or divisive, despite no scriptural support for this stance, leading them to teach from untested passages.
Let’s Begin:
“I and My Father are one.”

Many in modern religion see this verse as Yeshua proclaiming He is Elohim, the Father, though He never states this. This is adding to Scripture, which Elohim Himself warns against.
To be concise, when Yeshua said, “I and the Father are one,” He was highlighting His relationship with Elohim—perfect unity and agreement. As prophesied in Colossians 1:15, Yeshua is the visible image of the invisible Elohim.
How Do We Know This?
Yeshua consistently explained His words to the apostles, often later in the narrative, using various examples to teach His Father’s laws. This mirrors how Elohim taught in older writings (Isaiah 28:10-13). In John 17:22-23, Yeshua clarifies His meaning from John 10:30,
“And the esteem which You gave Me I have given them, so that they might be one as We are one, I in them, and You in Me, so that they might be perfected into one, so that the world knows that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me. (Yoḥanan John 17:22-23 TS2009)
Yeshua taught this same concept in John 14:20.
“When I am raised to life again, you will know that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”

Thus, claiming John 10:30 means Yeshua is Elohim, the Father, would imply the apostles, sharing this unity, are also Elohim—an untenable conclusion. The Spirit reveals Yeshua’s true meaning, which modern religion often opposes, even after showing the Messiah and the father‘s own words.
Another Misinterpreted Verse:
“And T’oma answered and said to Him, ‘My Master and my Elohim!’”
(Yoḥanan John 20:28 TS2009)
Why did Thomas say this? Thomas was present in John 14:5 when Philip asked Yeshua to show them the Father. Yeshua responded:
“Philip said, ‘Master, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.’ Yeshua replied, ‘Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen Me has seen the Father! So why are you asking Me to show Him to you? Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I speak are not My own, but My Father who lives in Me does His work through Me. Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me. Or at least believe because of the work you have seen Me do.’” (Yoḥanan – John 14:8-11)
John 14:9 emphasizes Yeshua’s unity with Elohim, not that He is the Father, aligning with Thomas’s divine acknowledgment in John 20:28 and Philip’s question in John 14:5.
Another Example:
Another example, using the same principle but a different topic, involves Peter on forgiveness, many don’t understand why Peter asked the question,
“Then Kĕpha came to Him and said, ‘Master, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’” (Mattithyahu – Matthew 18:21 TS2009)
Many in modern religion misinterpret this with imaginative “spiritual revelations, failing to go back on the narrative,” But Scripture is clear and simple, like a well-crafted novel, understandable even to a child. Modern religion complicates it with unverified visions and revelations, entangling both teachers and followers.
Peter’s question and why he asked this question is answered earlier in Luke 17:3-4:
“Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day comes back to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” (Luqas Luke – 17:3-4 TS2009)
Unlearning:
Having dismantled this man-made foundation, let’s build a new one based on biblical truth from Scripture alone. I will demonstrate who Yeshua truly is.
First, consider the character of the Father. Many in modern religion misunderstand the importance of “character.” Hopefully, this lesson clarifies it.
Elohim Says:
“Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.” (Isaiah 46:10 NLT)
Keep this in mind: Elohim declares in Isaiah 46:10 that only He can foretell the future. Now, consider Matthew 24:36, where Yeshua speaks about the future:
“But concerning that day and the hour no one knows, not even the messengers of the heavens, but My Father only.” (Mattithyahu Matthew 24:36 TS2009)
When modern religion claims Yeshua, the messenger, is Elohim, the Creator, they contradict Elohim’s statement in Isaiah 46:10, effectively calling Him a liar.
Another Example:
“Ěl is not a man, to lie; nor a son of man, to repent! Has He said, and would He not do it; or spoken, and would not confirm it?” (Bemiḏbar Numbers 23:19 TS2009)
Compare this to what Yeshua said about Himself:
“And Yeshua saith unto him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.” (Mattithyahu Matthew 8:20 KJV)
Yeshua called Himself the “Son of Man,” the opposite of what Elohim says about Himself. Claiming Yeshua is Elohim again implies Elohim is a liar.
Another Verse:
“He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen.” (1 Timothy 6:16 NLT)
Yeshua reiterates:
“(Not that anyone has ever seen the Father; only I, who was sent from Elohim, have seen him.)” (Yoḥanan – John 6:46 NLT)
Yeshua On Earth:
When Yeshua was on earth, people saw and touched Him, and He died, unlike the Father. Some might desperately claim, to preserve their teachings, that Yeshua did not truly die. This, again, reveals their pride. Paul, in 1 Corinthians 15:20, declares otherwise.
“But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died.”
1 Corinthians 15:20 NLT (simplify translation)
When individuals proclaim that Yeshua did not truly die, they not only label the Apostle Paul a liar but also Yeshua Himself.
Then, when all things are under his authority:
“For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” (Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.) Then, when all things are under his authority, the Son will put himself under God’s authority, so that God, who gave his Son authority over all things, will be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.”

One Final Verse:
Let’s clarify one final verse to settle this matter. After Yeshua ascended to heaven and John was exiled to Patmos for preaching Elohim’s word, a message was delivered to John from Yeshua’s angel, relayed from Elohim Himself. This aligns with Yeshua’s teaching in Matthew 24:36, that only the Father knows the future, not He.
““Revelation of יהושע Messiah, which Elohim gave Him to show His servants what has to take place with speed. And He signified it by sending His messenger to His servant Yoḥanan,”

Are we all Christ?
“There is not Yehuḏi nor Greek, there is not slave nor free, there is not male and female, for you are all one in Messiah יהושע.”

Does the verse imply we are all Yeshua the Son? Certainly not! That was simply a rhetorical form of expression from his era.
Now, consider this rhetorical question:
If there is no Son, only the Father, why do they persistently proclaim the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit? What a perplexing conundrums! As my uncle Sam used to say, “confusion to the max!”
Modern religion frequently employs emotional manipulation, with leaders using soft electric piano music and gentle vocal melodies during altar calls—traditions grounded in sentiment rather than Scripture. How would they function without these instruments?
They also employ the electric piano during preaching to stir emotions, as if the accurately translated word of Elohim were insufficient. Deceived by cunning false prophets, who offer vague predictions about the present to ensnare those seeking hope, they fail to grasp that anyone can describe the present, but only Elohim can foretell the future.
Closing Remarks:
How was John 10:30 misinterpreted?
My question to them: How can we have a relationship with the Son and the Father through a stranger or middleman’s interpretation? You can’t.
Much misinterpretation stems from pagan religious literature. Modern religion often relies on extra-biblical books, teaching from them without testing their claims against Scripture. They echo appealing ideas without verification, neglecting Scripture as their primary source.
When introducing my wife to Torah, she repeatedly asked, “Why is it always about law?” This is a key question for those entangled in false doctrine. Everything centers on Elohim’s laws because Yeshua was a Torah teacher, not a Christian teacher. Christianity often misunderstands grace, sidelining Elohim’s laws. Yeshua came to free those spiritually imprisoned by corrupt teachings, guiding them to Elohim’s laws to avoid sin—not to abolish the Ten Commandments. Sin, not the law, was nailed to the stake (not a cross, as depicted in media—I’ll address this in a future teaching). Only those who repent and adhere to Elohim’s Commandments are freed from sin.
This is why many don’t hear Elohim’s voice—they demand He accept their man-made doctrines. These added rules are works-based salvation, like the Pharisees’ municipal laws, not the spiritual Ten Commandments given to Moses by Elohim. Traditional doctrine won’t save; those who reject Elohim’s Commandments due to unbelief will perish, regardless of kindness or generosity, as stated in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10.
My joy stems not from frivolous mic drops, which would merely reveal immaturity, but from a biblical unity that harmonizes with Elohim’s character.
